DIY Crochet Projects & Patterns

Untitled

For me, nesting doesn't mean cleaning up or cooking. It means crafting!

After finding out that I was having a girl, I saw the following pictures on online and knew that I had to either make these, or buy the following items on etsy for baby's newborn photos:

I've never crocheted before. I've tried knitting once, and thought it was too hard. I was going to sign up for a class at Joann's Fabric store, but they didn't have one for another month. So I turned to youtube, and did a couple of "learn to crochet" tutorials. That's all you really need to crochet! It's completely do-able! I only did the following 4 tutorials before I got started. If I didn't know how to a do a certain stitch, I would youtube it.

After this, I was ready to start on actual projects.

1) Mermaid Outfit- I bought this pattern on etsy for $5.95:https://www.etsy.com/listing/100285485/instant-download-crochet-pattern-no-59?ref=shop_home_active_4

In terms of time investment, I think that I finished all of the following projects in my first month of crocheting. Making newborn items are a lot faster than making adult items. My mom also started to crochet again after she saw me working on these projects. I directed her to the same youtube tutorials, and she has made me a baby blanket, baby shoes, and a baby hat. Happy Crocheting! You can do it!
